Why can't I register an account?

This could be happening for one of several reasons:

• There are still possible issues with mobile devices. We apologize for the inconvenience, and are working to make the site more mobile-friendly.  In the meantime, we advise that you try your registration again from a computer until we are able to rectify this.
• You are an AOL user. Due to AOL's use of proxies, registrations from AOL can be blocked by our anti-spam facility.  We advise you to try your registration again from a different browser such as Firefox.
• You have been blocked by anti-spam for other reasons. This is beyond our control, as registrations are checked against the Stop Forum Spam database.  If you believe your information has ended up on this list in error, please see the Stop Forum Spam website for more information.

I tried to register, but didn't receive my confirmation email.  Why?

This is usually caused by a misspelled email address.  We advise you to try re-registering your account, and double check the email field.  It is also possible that the confirmation email has gone to your junk mail folder, so we advise checking for it there as well.

We are currently experiencing issues with our confirmation emails being blocked by Gmail. If you try to register with a Gmail email address and do not receive a confirmation email, please try again with a different email address.

Are Grey/Demisexual people allowed to join?

Of course!  Those identities fall under the asexual umbrella, and we only ask that you are genuinely seeking a non-sexual relationship.

Why was my account banned?

If your account has been banned, the staff member who did the banning will have given you a reason on your profile page.  Please review the Terms and Conditions to clarify the given reason(s).  If you believe your account has been banned in error, you may submit an unban request via your profile, which will be reviewed by our staff.  Please do not use the contact form to submit queries regarding your ban.  Emails sent via the contact form for this reason will be ignored.

How do I change my password?

The password field is in the "contact info" tab of the profile edit screen, which you can get to either by the edit button at the top of your profile, or by going to "my account" -> "edit my profile" from the top menu.

I forgot my password/username.  What do I do?

You can retrieve your username or reset your password via the "forgot login" screen here.  You will need to provide your email address to retrieve your username, which will be sent to you via email.  To reset your password, you will need both your email address and username, so if you have also forgotten your username, you will need to retrieve that first.  It is recommended that you change your password again once you are able to log in.

If you have forgotten the email address you registered with, you will need to register a new account, as we cannot divulge email addresses for security reasons.

How do I delete my account?

Well, we would hate to see you go, of course, but we understand sometimes there are reasons for doing so.  If you are sure you want to delete your account, click the button at the bottom of your profile ("my account" in the top menu).  Another button will appear in a popup, and if you are still sure you want to delete your account, click on that one as well.

Help, I accidentally deleted my account!  Is there any way to get it back?

Unfortunately, no, account data is purged upon deletion, and you will need to re-register.
